How to read this page
The benchmark. Stocks rise and fall with the whole market, so “did it go
up?” isn’t enough. We measure each call against a benchmark and report the difference — the
extra return the call added (or lost) on top of what you’d have gotten anyway.
vs. its sector compares each pick to its own industry (e.g. a chip stock vs.
other chip stocks) — the fairest test of real skill. vs. the S&P 500 compares it to the
broad US market. Use the toggle to switch every chart between the two.
The time frames. We track each call 1 day, 1 week,
1 month, 3 months, and 6 months after it was posted, so you can see whether the
edge shows up quickly, slowly, or fades. Use the Horizon control to set which one drives the
charts and ranking (1 month by default).
Hit rate is simply the share of calls that beat the benchmark — a coin-flip
is 50%. Conviction (high or low) is how strongly they pushed the idea; direction is whether
they bet the price would rise (long) or fall (short).
